SAP Configuration

SAP Customization/Configuration

Configuration of the SAP Application for various modules within an organization is the most critical stage of the implementation process. It includes designing of the application module to coincide with SAP business process to reflect the organizations business process. When an enterprise SAP Application is being configured, there are certain requirements that must be adhered to. The R/3 business functional areas for implementing modules must meet organization’s legal structure, reporting, and business process. SAP R/3 Systems are provided as a standard system that are designed based on the organization’s specific business needs. The SAP R/3 business process is applied to the organization’s functional business process procedures (BPPs).

How all of this designing/configuring of the system is done?

SAP includes an IMG- Implementation Guide. This is a built in tool that can be selected from the SAP menu path through customization. The module that is being configured/design can be access by selecting the organizations business function requirement. For Example: HR Module consists of a number of functional modules (OM. PA, ESS, MSS, GEM, T&E etc.) that can be processed at the atomic level, which are basically the processing of BPPs. This process is of importance, because it provides every organization with the same industry and similar product and services its unique, distinct application for a competitive edge.
